Construction Project Planning & Project scheduling -MS Excel

The Construction Project Planning & Project Scheduling course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to efficiently plan and schedule construction projects using Microsoft Excel. This comprehensive course covers a wide range of topics related to project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation. Participants will gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of project planning and scheduling, including the scope and nature of construction projects. They will learn about various types of task dependencies, such as start-to-start and finish-to-start links, and how to apply them in project scheduling.

The course focuses on preparing a baseline schedule for different stages of a construction project, from foundation works to finishing activities. Participants will learn how to create monthwise quantity sheets and bill of quantities (BOQ) using Excel, enabling them to accurately calculate the material requirements for each stage of the project. Furthermore, participants will explore the process of preparing monthwise invoices to track the project’s financial aspects. They will learn to determine average rates for the project and generate invoices for excavation, concreting, and shuttering works for both substructures and superstructures.

In addition, the course covers the preparation of bulk materials requirement for the entire project. Participants will learn how to calculate coefficients for PCC, concrete, plastering, and flooring works, as well as determine the quantities of cement, sand, aggregate, steel, cement blocks, and red bricks required on a monthly basis. Finally, the course includes assignments to reinforce the learned concepts and provide hands-on practice with Excel sheets specifically designed for construction projects.

By the end of the course, participants will have gained the necessary skills to effectively plan, schedule, and estimate costs for construction projects using Microsoft Excel, enabling them to enhance their project management capabilities and contribute to successful project delivery.
